Design Is a Justice Issue. Communities Deserve Better.

Communities thrive when they are intentionally designed to support the people who live, learn, work, and grow within them. Lasting impact comes from thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to the public good.

Fair Ground Impact partners with mission-driven organizations to create stronger communities through strategic design, collaborative problem-solving, and innovative solutions that inspire lasting change.

Good design isn't just beautiful, it's useful, inclusive, and rooted in the people it serves.

our philosophy

Design for Public Good™ is the unshakeable belief that communities deserve experiences, programs, spaces, and systems that are intentionally designed with people—not just for them.

At Fair Ground Impact, we practice equity-driven, human-centered, and community-informed design to help organizations build deeper trust, cultivate meaningful engagement, and co-create solutions that truly reflect the lived brilliance, strengths, and voices of the people they serve.

Whether we are facilitating high-stakes community dialogue, architecting responsive programs, or shifting how institutions interface with residents, our goal remains absolute: to build systems that transfer power, strengthen community infrastructure, and foster radical belonging.

Our Principles

Our work is guided by a commitment to thoughtful design, authentic collaboration, and meaningful community partnership. These principles shape every project, every relationship, and every outcome we strive to create.

We build authentic relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and shared accountability

Integrity Through Partnership

We believe lasting impact begins with shared leadership and collective action.

Shared Leadership

We design with the future in mind. Our goal is to help organizations create sustainable strategies.

Lasting Stewardship

We honor local expertise and build upon what is already working before introducing something new.

Siyanna Mahan

Siyanna Mahan founded Fair Ground Impact with a professional foundation in social work and a lifelong commitment to community building. She navigates the vital intersection of people, place, and possibility — grounded in a St. Louis upbringing that shaped her understanding of what it feels like when design and planning happen to a community rather than with it.

Her approach is deeply relational and future-focused. She doesn't just design programs or consult on engagement; she builds ecosystems where organizations and communities can grow together. By translating complex community needs into tangible strategies and experiences, Siyanna helps organizations move beyond static ideas toward active, sustained participation.

She is completing her Master of Social Work at Howard University (graduating July 2026) and brings expertise spanning community engagement, spatial justice, youth development, and organizational strategy.
